Abrams Ashton Chorley has helped many local businesses throughout the coronavirus epidemic. We now want to urge clients who are eligible to apply for the second grant of the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS).

The grant is available for self-employed people or members of partnerships who have been adversely affected by coronavirus. The first grant was paid between May and July. You can make a claim for the second grant, even if you did not make a claim for the first grant.

If you are eligible and your business has been adversely affected on or after 14 July 2020, you must make your claim for the second grant on or before 19 October 2020. Do not miss the deadline.

The second SEISS grant is worth 70% of your average monthly trading profits, paid out in a single instalment covering three months’ worth of profits, and capped at £6,570 in total. The online service will tell you how HMRC has worked out your grant.

Please note, if you receive texts, calls or emails claiming to be from HMRC, offering financial help or a tax refund and asking you to click on a link or to give personal information, it is a scam. The claim can only be made through your Government Gateway account.

Call Abrams Ashton Chorley on 01257 273313 or email info@aachorley.co.uk if you have any questions about applying for the SEISS grant.
